Inspired by the life of Spencer Wilson, who passed away on August 20, 2021 at the age of 26, the foundation was established to support the education of golf community workers. Spencer was an assistant golf professional who was passionate about the game and the people who surround it. The Spencer Wilson scholarship foundation will support employees of both Talis Park Country Club and Cattail Creek Country Club. Our goal is to help the most deserving employees further their education through annual scholarship awards to selected recipients.
Spencer was born on March 27, 1995. He was a large and slightly awkward kid who wore a constant smile and had a strong sense of self. Having discovered golf at a very early age, Spencer became devoted to the game. He pursued his passion, playing high school golf and then graduating from Coastal Carolina’s accredited Professional Golf Management program to pursue a career as a golf professional.
